RE-RUNNERS is the name of my next series. Book 1 - First Life is finished, but I'm holding off publishing until Book 2 is almost there. It won't be long, I promise.
I'm waiting because First Life is a bit 'dark' and Book 2 is more 'uplifting'. I don't want to leave any of you in a sad place without something to look forward to. 
So if you can be a little patient, I promise to eat, sleep and dream about Book 2 until it's finished.

The view from my window is mesmerising. Dawn is breaking and the light is coming; the street lights are still on and the birds are waking up. I know this is nothing new for a lot of people, but for me it’s a rare thing. I’m a night owl, not a morning person; however even I have to admit that it’s a beautiful time of day.

I had a Flower Reading recently (but that’s another story) from a man with extraordinary insight. He picked that I was a writer along with several other things that were spookily accurate. So accurate in fact, that when he said ‘I hope you don’t write inside four walls every day, because that just won’t work for you.’

Well actually yes, I do.... and if it’s too bright a day I pull down the blind. I’m like a hermit in my hole. It’s no wonder I’d had a block for over a week. Just couldn’t get back into my story and didn’t know where to go with it. So I followed his advice and got out into nature and as you can see from the photos, it was glorious out there and I’d been missing it all. I walked to the river not five minutes from where I live, took off my shoes and buried my toes in the sand. I’m also near the ocean so the sand is white and clean. I’m a lucky girl. I live in a beautiful part of the world where I can go where I want and do what I want. My walk to the river made me think of others who don’t have that freedom and I was so grateful that I do.

So I’ve continued my daily pause in nature because after that first day, I went home and the words poured out.... and it’s worked that way ever since. I’m in a writing waterfall and it’s fantastic!

I thought I’d share this insight with you, in case you need some grounding. Get out into nature. It’s where the human animal is meant to be.

After reformatting Love Me, Love My Sister for paperback (a real learning curve that was) and after reading and re-reading the proof copy, editing, resubmitting and re-reading it again; it's all full steam ahead.
LMLMS will be available in paperback in 5-7 working days.... check around the 24th March.

I'm busy both in my head and on the keyboard researching my next idea and while I will be extending myself into a paranormal suspense genre, there will always be an element of romance, because 'that's what makes the world go 'round'.

This 30 000 word novella was a thought in my head nearly 15 years ago. Characters developed, basic concept formalized .. and then put aside.
Thinking about this story didn't even enter my headspace until nearly 10 years later when, as I said in my 'About Elli' tab, I was 'floatin'  around on a boat in the Med', having a wonderful time doing nothing except explore new places, meet new people and engage in customs and languages that until this time in my life, I'd not had the opportunity to enjoy. (Maybe I'll write a book about it one day)  :)
Then of course, home to Oz we came and re-entered the real world of work, family and living the day to day. Not that establishing my business and starting life in a new town wasn't great fun, but once again the 'book idea' was put on the back burner.
Enter 5 years later and Love Me, Love My Sister is finally seeing the light of day. I hope you enjoy it.
Now for me it's back to the keyboard. The ideas are in the headspace. I've got to get them out and down on paper.. the electronic kind.
